Ostdeutsche, 2020

The Ostdeutsche is an established art gallery located in a small town in the southern part of Germany called Regensburg, focused on post-modernist work by Eastern European artists. The new identity is based on a dynamic system which translates the gallery's elegant features into a contemporary visual language.

Visual Mark

The master logo aims to encapsulate the gallery's initials while also representing the coat of arms of Regensburg. The semi-oval backdrop frames the isolated “O” and reappears as part of the visual system throughout the identity.

Poster Design

The posters follow a layout system designed to hierarchically distribute information, balance the use of image and text, and establish visual consistency across promotional materials. To simplify the process of creating these assets, I developed a web-based design tool using the Mechanic framework.
